This is a David Austin rose, "William Shakespeare 2000”. The deep red rose smiles upward at the clear sunlight...  Its petals are a jewel-red, with even richer hue in the shadows of its own frilled edges; the whole bloom is like velvet.  And the scent is sweet and deep also, it makes its own small sphere of fragrance.
